About us

Since 2018, connecting people with nursing care they can't easily get elsewhere

Founded in London by Mario and Sharon, Map a Nurse exists because it can be genuinely hard to get timely nursing care outside a hospital setting - long GP waits, packed A&E departments, and little in between. We built a simpler way to reach a qualified nurse, wherever you are.

Why we exist

Not every need is an emergency

For non-emergency, non-life-threatening needs, would you rather spend hours waiting in A&E, or be looked after in the comfort of your own home? That question is why we started Map a Nurse. (For medical emergencies, always call 999 or go to A&E.)

How we work

An introductory service, by design

We connect people who need a nurse with independent, NMC-registered nurses who can help them. We don't employ nurses directly, and the nursing care itself is delivered under the professional responsibility of each individual nurse. For more on how this works, see our FAQ.

NMC verification, every visit

Before your visit, we share your nurse's NMC PIN so you can check their current registration yourself on the official NMC register.

Professional indemnity insurance

Every nurse working with Map a Nurse holds their own professional indemnity insurance, the mandatory cover required to practise as a registered nurse in the UK. Clinical responsibility rests with the individual nurse providing your care.

Registered with the ICO

Map a Nurse (Blue Workers Ltd) is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office, registration number ZA436082. We don't ask you to share medical details with us; once your visit is confirmed, we put you in direct contact with your nurse, so you discuss your care privately with them.

Since 2018

We've been connecting clients with independent nurses across the UK since 2018.

What clients tell us

★★★★★

"Map a Nurse is a much needed service in this city, and it's absolutely amazing: I was struggling to find a way to get a daily wound dressing change after a minor surgery, as I work full time and couldn't use the GP appointments, and Map a Nurse was the right solution. My nurse has been so professional, precise, caring and thorough... I cannot praise her enough."

- Claudia, London

★★★★★

"I needed to have dressing done for 4 days during a business trip in London. I asked Map a Nurse, and they arranged a nurse coming, at the time I needed, at my hotel! Perfect! Nurse was great, care was great. I came back to France relaxed. Thanks Mario & Sharon!"

- Annick

★★★★★

"We have used the services of Map a Nurse to find a nurse for our international group of 145 kids and 15 teachers staying a week in the UK. The nurse who joined the group, Sharon, was extremely professional and showed a genuine interest in the well-being of the participants, always making herself available and being very proactive. She had a great personal and warm approach, and [she also handled a medical emergency requiring hospital care for one of the group with complete professionalism and care]. I can't recommend enough the service we received, we'll definitely be using Map a Nurse for our future groups."
