Terms & Conditions

Last updated: July 2026. Please read these terms carefully before booking a visit or registering as a nurse with Map a Nurse.

1. Who we are

Map a Nurse is a trading division of Blue Workers Ltd, a company registered in England & Wales, company no. 11182189, registered with the Information Commissioner's Office under registration number ZA436082 ("Map a Nurse", "we", "us", "our"). These terms apply to anyone who books a visit through us ("client", "you") and, where indicated, to nurses who register to receive bookings through us ("nurse").

2. The nature of our service

Map a Nurse acts as a disclosed agent, operating an introductory service that connects clients with independent, NMC-registered nurses. We are not a nursing agency and are not required to be registered with the Care Quality Commission, as we have no ongoing role in managing or directing the clinical care provided. We do not employ the nurses who take on bookings through us.

The nursing service you receive is provided by, and is under the sole professional responsibility of, the individual nurse. Map a Nurse does not itself provide healthcare services.

3. Scope of service

Map a Nurse is designed for minor injury and urgent, but not life-threatening, health concerns. It is not a substitute for emergency care. For medical emergencies, always call 999 or go to your nearest A&E.

No GP referral is required to book a visit. If, at any point, we or the nurse assigned to you consider that your needs fall outside the scope of what can safely be supported through this service, we will tell you and may decline or discontinue the booking, and may suggest you seek care through another appropriate service (such as your GP, a walk-in clinic, or A&E).

4. Involvement of an NHS district nurse

Where an NHS district nurse has already been, or will be, involved in a client's care for the same condition, we reserve the right to decline a booking, or to end an existing series of visits, without refund for any completed or committed visits. This is to avoid conflicting or duplicated care between our service and NHS community nursing, and to keep clinical responsibility clear.

5. Booking process

  1. You submit a request through our booking form, describing the reason for your visit, your location, and your preferred timing.
  2. We identify an available, NMC-registered nurse and confirm a price and a proposed time with you. Providing a request does not commit you to anything, and there is no search fee if you choose not to proceed.
  3. Once you accept and pay, we confirm the booking with the nurse.
  4. Ahead of your visit, we put you in direct contact with your nurse to discuss your care.

6. What a "visit" means

A "visit" refers to care provided on an hourly basis, or part of an hour. The final duration of a visit, and the corresponding cost, is determined solely by the attending nurse, based on the clinical needs of the patient at the time. Care will not be limited or rushed to fit a pre-agreed time, as doing so could compromise patient health and safety. Where a visit runs longer than initially quoted, the additional time will be reflected in the final invoice.

7. Payment

Payment is made in advance, directly to Map a Nurse. Nurses are not authorised to accept payment directly from clients, and you should not pay a nurse directly under any circumstances. Prices vary depending on location, timing (including weekday, weekend and bank holiday rates), and the type of care requested, and are always communicated to you before you are asked to pay. Where you are visiting from abroad, we can accommodate payment in GBP, EUR or USD.

8. Cancellations and rescheduling

Our cancellation policy depends on whether a specific date and time have been confirmed for your visit:

We consider exceptional circumstances on a case-by-case basis. If you believe your situation warrants an exception, please contact us and explain the circumstances.

9. Multi-visit packages

Where a discounted package of multiple visits has been agreed, the discount applies to the package as booked. If you choose to pay for a series of visits one at a time rather than as a package, the package discount will not apply, and we cannot guarantee the same nurse for each visit, which will instead depend on availability. Wherever possible, we try to assign the same nurse to you for repeat visits, including for ongoing or repeated treatment such as fertility treatment cycles.

10. Nurse registration and verification

Every nurse taking bookings through Map a Nurse is registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and holds their own professional indemnity insurance, which is the mandatory cover required to practise as a registered nurse in the UK. Before your visit, we provide you with your nurse's NMC PIN so that you can verify their registration on the official NMC register.

11. Liability

As Map a Nurse operates only as an introductory service between clients and independent nurses, clinical responsibility for the care provided, and the associated professional liability and insurance cover, rest with the individual nurse providing your care, and not with Blue Workers Ltd. To the extent permitted by law, Blue Workers Ltd's liability is limited to our role in introducing you to a nurse and administering your booking and payment.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.

12. Client conduct

We want this service to work well for both clients and nurses. We reserve the right to decline, pause, or discontinue a booking, at any stage, where a request falls outside the scope of this service, or where a client's conduct towards Map a Nurse staff or a nurse is abusive, inappropriate, or unsafe. Nurses are entitled to end a visit early if they feel unsafe or if they are asked to do something inappropriate or outside their professional role.

13. Non-solicitation of nurses

By paying for and using our services, the client agrees not to hire, or attempt to hire, any nurse introduced through Map a Nurse for private engagements outside of our arrangement. Should we discover a breach of this clause, the client agrees to pay Map a Nurse a penalty of £200 to cover the recruitment and administrative costs associated with that nurse's introduction and ongoing availability.

14. Confidentiality and data

We don't ask you to share medical details with Map a Nurse. Once your visit is confirmed, we put you in direct contact with your nurse so that you can discuss your care privately with them. Map a Nurse is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (registration number ZA436082). For details of how we handle personal data, see our Privacy Policy.

15. Referrals to carer partners

Map a Nurse does not itself provide carer services. Where a nurse identifies that additional, non-clinical support from a carer would help alongside your nursing care, we may put you in touch with one of our specialist care partners. This is a referral only: any carer service you take up is provided by, and is the responsibility of, that partner organisation, not Map a Nurse.

16. Fertility and other time-critical treatment support

Where a nurse has confirmed and been booked for an ongoing treatment cycle, that commitment stands even in situations such as transport strikes or extreme weather. We also do our best to have a qualified backup nurse ready for such bookings. In truly exceptional circumstances beyond anyone's reasonable control, affecting both the assigned nurse and the backup nurse, we cannot guarantee attendance, though this is extremely rare; where it happens, we will contact you as soon as possible to agree next steps.

17. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes in how the service works or in the law. The current version will always be available on this page.

18. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
